Here you will find the descriptions and materials lists of my in-person workshops. I enjoy exploring a less 'traditional' use of mediums. You might be surprised what surfaces some mediums will work on and you may learn some new techniques. My workshops are for all skill levels. While you might be at a higher skill level as an artist, you may not have tried a specific medium, or particular combination of mediums, materials, or techniques. My goal for these workshops is to introduce you to new mediums and techniques, help you develop your skills, and to give you the tools to help you reach your own artistic goals. I am not here to teach you "the right way" to create art, but rather ways that a medium or mediums can be used to create art. While my personal style is realism and my subjects are typically animals or nature, the techniques I share can be applied to most any style or subject. I love that although we use the same references, the art produced by my students is totally individual and unique!
I teach two types of workshops; 101 and 'Get Real' intensive workshops.
The 101 workshops are a comprehensive introduction to a specific medium. We explore the materials involved in using a particular medium and do practice exercises to learn various techniques using those materials. These workshops are single, 4 hour sessions. Cost is $95.00 / person. All materials are supplied.
The 'Get Real' workshops are 4 sessions, 4 hours each. These are a more in-depth exploration into a medium that the 101 workshops. We do a specific subject starting from a blank surface through to a finished work of art using various techniques and materials within a given medium. Cost is $195.00 / person. Some materials are supplied.
All workshops are held at the Central Art Supply classroom (101 N. Medford, Oregon). You can sign up through Central Art Supply's website (centralartsupply.com), in-store, or via phone (541.773.1444). Materials list are available here on my website, on Central Art's website or in the store at the registers.
With advanced notice, I will help you if you have a specific project you are already working on (in the medium that is being done in the workshop) or you want to do a different subject than the one I have chosen for the workshop.
